Yes quite!
I don´t have such high hopes though. Lots of fantasy in the books and we all know where films usually end up after the adaptations. But I hope I´m wrong!

Very nice work on those weapons by the folks at Albion. I hope these movies will be available here in the states, at least on DVD.

I love the banded grip on that sword. THat just looks down right cozey. I wish Albion would offer an engraving service. I would love to get a cross like that cut in the pommel of the Bayeux I get someday.....
That dagger is awesome too.
Jonathan.

Those would be some movie tie-in swords really worth getting! I wonder what the chances are that Albion will offer some of them?

I would love to tell more about this project, but I shall have to wait untill we can do a proper presentation.
With these matters you are bound by agreements on what information you can share in advance.
There is more info coming and hopefully tidbits you wil find interesting regarding the film and its swords.
I might say as much that the sword you see in the pic above is the sword of the hero, Arn, shown together with his dagger. The dagger is naturally separate, not fitted into the sword scabbard. They are just bound together with the sword belt.

This is so fantastic that Albion has had this opportunity and this may well be only the beginning of more things to come for them in the movie world! Kind of ironic that I sat down and came into the forums and straight to this thread after setting down my Vassal on the table next to my PC mouse. My god I Love this sword, it travels about the house a lot with me!
I too am hoping this will be available in the USA in English! I have just recently learned about Albion making swords for a movie, so I am really not abreast of very much of the information pertaining to this matter. However, I would imagine only wonderful things can come of this and that is really great!
Sincerely,
Bob

Wonderful! Another sword epic to watch out for - and it seems this one will at least have some authenticity to it! I hope we can see it in the USA.

Oh, this is great! I really loved those books because they paint a very vivid image of middle ages. Well Guillou sure didn't know a lot about swords or swordfighting when he wrote those books, but if there are as good advisors for the films as Peter is, then I guess that has been fixed.
I wonder if there are as knowledgeable people working as experts on the fight choreography.
BTW Earlier I found out that Guillou's first three books have been published in the UK:
The Road to Jerusalem
The Knight Templar
The Kingdom at the End of the Road

It will be 2 movies, a tv-series and yes, even an international movie.
And Patrick, if you cannot find it in the States i will send it to you when it comes on DVD.
How´s that?
Edit: Forgot to add this picture as well.
