I am in the market for a proper 17th centuryy buff coat. Can members who them please post pics? Also, does anyone know of a maker for these?

you can try Mark Beaby in the UK: I used to own one of his and it was awesome!

If you want a cheaper option then you could buy 30 square feet of oil-tan buff from Clayton's in Chesterfield (UK) and learn to butt stitch it yourself. I made one this way and its come out OK. The leather did cost about £300 though!

Here it is modelled by a neighbour who was unfortunate enough to drop by when I needed a photo.
