Suddenly I got some new infos about the sabre.

"...A fuller runs most of the length of the blade, tapering in width along the blade's length. Where the spine changes to the false edge the fuller is interrupted, rising up and actually becoming thicker than the blade before resuming its run toward the point. While I'm not exactly sure of the purpose of this feature, it is present on the original and is visually interesting...."

The fuller of the original seems not as deep as on this sabre. It is covered with a goldened cupper strip on both sides. The fuller is not interrupted. Only the cupper strip is rising up from the blade's surface. It seems the blade had been bent for some reason, and the corrector couldn't flat the strip into the original lay.

A very interesting explanation for this could give the "Hojnovskij" sabre form Kiev. It was found bent in a stone sarcophagus.
I got somewhere a photo from the golden cupper stripe.

Henrik,
Thanks for the feedback. My trouble when putting this together was that the only sources I had were ones that possessed very short catalogue-like entries that didn't go into enough detail. I'd be happy to make some changes to the review, especially if I could peek at some of the source material you have.

Please message me with any info you might have. Thanks!
Hell yeah! After 8 more hours, the site has more security fixes, bug fixes, and other under-the-hood stuff. To all those anonymous jerks in random countries who keep attacking this site each night, I say, bring it on.

I won't be updating the change log with these changes, as they're very much background stuff and will just bore this community, but for me, it will save me a whole hell of a lot of trouble.

Don't tell me that there are people who try to disorganise this site.

Every day brings a constant barrage of stuff. Every big site has these issues so it's not really unique to this one and it's not related to the community in any way. It's coming from the fact that we have a lot of pages of content and high page rankings in search engines and whatnot. In other words, it's just a consequence of the popularity of the site.
In other words lots of attempts to post " SPAM " and phoney " Bots " registering as people trying to sell viagra or Russian brides and God know what other internet garbage.

I don't really know much about this kind of tech stuff but I can imagine how much Nathan must despise spammers.

Another reason to thank Nathan for all the work he has to put into this site just to keep it functioning.

No, that is an entirely different thing than what I was talking about. We have spammers, spam bots, and all that hitting us and we also have hacking attempts. The two are very different things.

All this junk makes for extra work that I'd rather not have. That's for sure.
I've added another page to my collection gallery:

Albion Armorers Soldat Grosse Messer
Added to Nathan's collection

Enjoy. It's one of my favorites.

A new purchase or just one not documented yet or one that waited for the scabbard and by-knife & pricker to be finished before adding to your collection gallery ?

In any case your pics make everything look better and tempting to buy and add to one's collection. ;)

I've had it for quite awhile and talked about it in a previous topic.

It really is one of my favorites.

Well I guess I forgot that you had already mentioned having it. ;)

The great looking scabbard and by-knife/pricker sure make it even more attractive and very much worth showing off. :)
There's a bug with quoting text in private messages. I won't have free time for awhile, though, but I'm aware of the issue and need to find the time to track it down.

I apologize for any inconveniences it may cause.

Cheers.

Bug found. Fixed. I think.
Nathan,
I lurk on myArmoury nearly every day I am not on the road. The posts collections and articles are very informative and entertaining. I really do appreciate the work you put into the site. Thank you.

Nathan; I heartily echo Daniel's sentiments. I am not much of a forum posting type, but I use this great website every day for information and enlightenment. I can't thank you enough for keeping everything up and working.
Best regards.
Hands-on reviews wins with 49%.

We used to push these things out every week. I don't know how we managed such a thing!

I just formatted a few more today for publishing in a few weeks. Any authors wanting to submit their own hands-on review for publishing should read our hands-on review FAQ and formally contact us with the idea.
