Boarders away!
Just received my latest toy - commissioned from Nick (Knives by Nick) Johnson here in the UK:

It's an early 18thC boarding axe, with a 9" long spiked head with a 4" wide blade, set on separate (riveted) langets. The head goes over the langets, which are 'T' shaped at the top to securely retain it. Overall length is 28". It looks and feels really 'right' (you guys know what I mean!).

Here's a pic of the original piece that inspired it - I think Nick's interpretation is pretty good:

Boarding axe
Nicely done! I love the simple elegance and functionality of this excellent tool/weapon.

As a fan of the pollaxe and tools of that shape, I'm glad to see more interest in boarding axes recently. Thanks for sharing!
Wow that is one nice looking ax :D It will look great up on the wall or in the hand.

Thanks, one more thing to add to the list of thing I didn't I really wanted :D
