Production shamshir blades
Does anyone know any company who could make shamshir blunts? Made of steel but with a blunt edge

Kind regards
Manouchehr
Do you mean "blunt" as in simply unsharpened, or actually rebated for safe practice use?

I mean rebated for safe practice use
I don't know any makers who sell a rebated shamshir but the Coldsteel one could be made safe by grinding down the edge until one had a 2 mm wide rounded edge, maybe losing up to 5 mm of blade width ( Just a guess depending on the blade's crosssection and it's maximum thickness at the back ).

Not outrageously expensive and you might even buy an extra one that you would keep as is, sharp to do test cutting.

BKS might be able to make you a pair of custom rebated shamshirs: http://www.baltimoreknife.com/

They might be able to modify their tulwar by changing the handle style and furniture:

The yatangans look interesting as well although you do seem to want shamshirs BKS seems to specialize in making training blunts for fencing or stage work and they should be good at holding up to hard use. ( Although I don't have personal experience with BKS blades so I can't give you an opinion on their quality from firsthand experience ).

Hope this helps.
I'd go with that Jean said... BKS is your best bet for soemthing like this. The vast majority of their stuff is made for stage combat... only a very small portion of their blades are made sharp. They could do you up some 'shamshir' blunts I'm sure.
