Crusader Axe
I acquired this Axe in the Middle East. The handle is a reproduction; however I am interested in learning the origin of the Axe Head.

From the markings, it leads me to believe that it is from the Crusades. Any information would be appreciated.

It's a moderately common Indo-Persian head. Most examples I've seen pics of are 19th century or modern (fake antiques), but the style has been around somewhat longer than that. The style of piercing is seen on recent ones, and I've seen that style of brass inlay on 18th and 19th century Indo-Persian stuff, so I don't see any reason to assume it's especially old.

If authentic, I'd guess 19th century, perhaps 18th. I don't know if this style goes back to the Crusades, but if it did, this wouldn't be a Crusader axe, but rather an anti-Crusader axe.
