For Sale: 18th Century American Naval Cutlass
This listing is marked SOLD and is no longer available

This is a reproduction of an American naval cutlass c. 1760. It is based on one pictured in Swords & Blades of the American Revolution (pg. 185, 370.S). The sword has a 25" hand forged blade of high carbon steel. The metal guard is formed from sheet steel and has been aged to a dark grey color. The tapered octagonal bone grip has been decorated with a dyed lattice work pattern to match the original sword. There are a few natural checks in the bone (as is common), but the entire grip has been stabilized inside with epoxy and it is very solid. As with a true cutlass made to be stored in an arms locker aboard ship, this is a no-frills, munitions grade sword that does not come with a scabbard. Price of $280
includes shipping in continental US.
