Wanted: 12th - 13th century Horse-Tack

My reenactment hobby has now reached a new level. Me and a horse I am riding have made our first attempts at hastiludes and we both enjoyed it very much! I have gear, but alas she has not. So I am interested in the second hand market for:

Any horse-tack that could pass for 12-13th century, meant for a large pony (14 hands, rather stout)

Mainly interested in stirrups, halters, bridles, reins and such (basically anything smaller than the saddle) but eventually I will hopefully need more!

Also if you have any pointers on good resources to buy repros I am all ears.

Thank you!

that's a hard thing to come by. go to www.armourarchive.org and ask for this looking for Glen Kyle or Jesse Bailey. they both have some tach. I think they made their saddles and had Patrick Thaden make some of the sturrips and metal bits etc for them

Thanks, I'll check it out. And yes, I guess this is a really niche market so most stuff will probably have to be custom or home-brewed (not that I mind that, really) and finding a good compromise between horse-safety, people-safety, convenience and good looks...but I guess that topic is worthy of a thread of its own in the Off-topic section :)

Guys,
This forum is only for discussions between buyers and sellers. It's not for any other kind of discussion, no matter how well-intentioned.

Thank you.
