Continuing with my theme of a Scandinavian Crusader in the Baltic in the early to mid-13th Century....

Since my "character" is basically going to start out dirt poor (since I can only afford so much kit at a time. Starting with clothing, spear, dagger, helmet, shield, a bow, then on to a gambeson or aketon, maille and an axe), then the sword (an Albion Count) would be purchased in theater from an Imperial or Teutonic merchant (since such swords are apparently very German), I'm wondering about a Russian-style scabbard and sword belt of the period. Did they vary much from those used by the Crusaders in the Baltic and how likely (or not) would it be that a given merchant or craftsman in the Baltic might be of the Russian school of scabbard making rather than Western European?

Thank you!
