Looking for 16th C. English Military Manuals
Hi all,

I'm new around here and this is my first post so I'll apologise ahead just in case this has been asked a million times before or I've posted in the wrong place!

I'm trying to track down the following texts and was wondering if anyone knew a reliable source for them (preferably) within the UK:

"The Arte of Shooting in Great Ordnaunce" by William Bourne
"A Path-way to Military Practise" by Barnaby Rich
"The Practice, Proceedings and Lawes of Armes" by Matthew Sutcliffe
"The Arte of Warre" by William Garrard
"Suffolk's expedition to Montdidier 1523" and "The Enterprises of Paris and Boulogne" both by Elis Gruffudd

I've checked the British Library catalogue and they seem to have a couple of them but I'm not sure what you get for your money, if you get a copy of the full text or just a small excerpt. Being a bit of a cheapskate I've also tried Google Books but haven't had any joy there either.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help :)
Have you checked Paul Meekins Books? He's in the UK and has an extensive variety of 16th century books and facsimiles available.

Good luck!

Hi Dan,

Thank you very much for that, it's a great lead!

Simon :)
The Raymond J. Lord collection of historical combat manuals has a PDF facsimile of Bourne.
Hi Lafayette,

Thanks for that, it's a goldmine! :D
Early English Books Online has Sutcliffe and Garrard.
Hi Benjamin,

Thanks for that. Is there a way I can sign up to EEBO just as a private individual? From what I've seen it looks like you have to be either a public library or attached to a university and unfortunately I'm neither.
