Brigandine gorget
You see brigandine gorgets on almost ever site that sells armor on line. Was this a real form of armor? Or is the "Brave Heart" school of armor. Many brigandine armors have the neck area built in to them those that do not usually can be covered by a chain standard. Which in a lot of ways seems superior to the brigandine gorget in flexibility. I prefer my chainmail standard to my plate gorget.
Hi Jeff,

Here's a thread on this topic from three years ago: http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t...ine+gorget

I'm interested in the same question, and wonder if anyone has found any sources in the last few years. I'm also wondering just how late they might have been used - for example, if brigandines were used as body armour throughout the 15th C, could brigandine gorgets have been used then also?
