New Sword project
So where do I start I am sure this sword I am putting together does not fall in any Oakeshott class. So here is what i have and what i mixed and matched , First I bought a pommel from the Albion mote same that is on the the Poitierts sword ,then a bare blade from KOA a Hanwei Tinker single hand, while I was at KOA I asked if they had any damaged or broken sword i could get a guard off which they did ,a Viliant Bristol guard. So after a bit of doctoring I put all three together and here is what i came up with .Please let me know what you all think before i put a grip on it ,Thanks, JC.

Looks good thus far! Keep us posted on your progress! :)
Since the guard is stainless and the pommel is not, they won't age the same. Don't know if that's an issue for you or not. :)

For me there is a wide range of material and geometric possibilities that I consider "historically plausible." I like the looks of what you have so far. If it were me, I would just continue with it based on gut instinct and value compared to costs invested. I look forward to seeing your finished experiment!
Thanks Guys I like how it looks so far, I put a grip on it a few days ago I wanted to give it an old worn leather look .

I like it! Nice proportions. The grip looks somewhat thin for a one-hander, to me... but then, I seem to have a preference for beefier grips in general, despite my very average-sized hands. :)
