I recently got some canvas sword bags made up to protect my rapiers in transit/storage. They are from 56-62 inches long overall, with a 4 inch wide section that is 38 inches long (for the blade) widening to 14 inches wide for the last 18-24 inches which covers the hilt and folds over to tie down. They have a D ring at the end of the blade section to hang them up.
Just right for large rapier hilts that are too big for the usual skinny sword bags, without resorting to an excessively bulky rifle case.
