Major Spring Cleaning at Albion - great deals!
We are cleaning up the shop and selling off the various flotsam and jetsam that has accumulated over the last 10 years.

We have updated the Moat Sale page with new items and will be adding more as fast as Bear can take photos.

http://www.albion-swords.com/moat.htm

One item that may be of interest are rusty blade blanks that would potentially make for some fun home projects. Here is an example:

Sold as-is, no returns.

We will be adding more stuff in virtually every category - helms, armor pieces, hilt components and so on...

We also have some rare collector pieces from Jody Samson, Conan memorabilia, Highlander, Sleepy Hollow and others that we are putting out for bid. Contact Mike Sigman at 1-888-806-4356 or at quest@albion-swords.com if you are interested in bidding on those items.

We really want to clean out the shop!

Best,

Howy
Those wet much faster than expected...

We will be posting more blades and some other stuff starting on Monday.

I am also thinking that perhaps we should offer bare blades - what types would people be interested in? One request we get often are Scottish broadsword type blades...

best,

howy

Yes. please. Scottish broadsword type blades are needed on the market.

I'd also be interested in your existing Type XIX blade, mostly the longer version as found on the Gallowglass/Hauptmann/Markgraf swords.

Mike
More like number 9230 please! And enough of them so that I have time to get one this time. What a bummer that I missed this today.

Yes!

How about old pommels and cross guards too!

We can soup up swords kind of like they used to trick out old cars.

Awesome. I'll get to assemble one of the first Albion "Mutants".
Myles wrote, "I would like to see some bare Viking blades, especially more rusty ones!!! Can you hold one for me??? Just kidding." Yeah Myles, you bet, Albion is going to go into the RUSTY sword business. Now that's an untapped market with huge potential! LOL!!

I agree with Myles except I'll take mine with no rust, thank you. Type X and Xa blades are the ones that interest me the most although if I could get one of those type XVIIIb hollow ground beauties I don't think I'd be able to resist the temptation to buy one..
Howy,

Have you ever given thought to selling Albion Seconds (good blades, that just don't meet your exacting standards)? I would think that there would be a market something along the line of an upscale Squire Line.

Just a thought. Hope everyone is doing well.
Boy, how I was kicking myself in backside that I did not reacted quick enough to grab 9230! Indeed, please, more offers like this!
Messer blades of various sizes, falchion & saber blades. :)

That makes two requests for more like 9230. I think that's a sign :D

Ummm.....I don't think you've been paying attention, Allen. That is exactly what guys like Sean Flint and many others have been doing. Where have you been?

I bought a rusty piece of steel ( I hope!) that looks a little like a 20" long knife blade and I'm hoping that with a little luck I'll be able to turn it into a seax that looks like it was made by a hung over one eyed black smith's apprentice with the DTs! Yeah, I don't want to set the bar too high! LOL!!

I've been paying attention! I've just never knew a good (cheap) source for sword blanks and/or parts.

OBTW, I got the 9230. Ideas any one?
Too bad shipping to europe was through the roof. I had my eyes on a blade there until I heard the shipping cost. ): Nice initiative though. (:
Allen ? You wrote, "OBTW, I got the 9230. Ideas any one?" Yeah, sell it to me at cost! LOL!! Good for you! I think you got a great buy, you'll know when you get the blade. Ideas? Well, It certainly looks like a type X to me, which suggests but doesn't demand a Viking or Norman style treatment.

If you're asking for how or where to get parts, you could make your own if you kept it simple and had access to some basic tools. I think a drill press would be a huge help. Small pieces of mild steel are pretty cheap. There are companies that will make crossguards and pommels if you want to go that route. You could see if anyone has any parts but I'd try to figure out what I wanted first.

I'm just starting a couple of projects and I'm trying to not let my imagination carry me away and keep things simple. Wait until you get the blade and see what it tells you.
I think that this is a market area that should be exploited, obviously there is alot of interest in DIY projects for cutlering ideas but little or no resource in blades of any real quality. I vote YES %100 on the idea of bare blades!!!! Viking blades gets my vote(G2,G3,G4,X and Xa) or possibly the first Next Gen gladius blades.

Even with the shipping costs, with the 4 blades for 100$ you end up with ~50 euros per blade, which is dirt cheap :)
