Hi
Can anybody tell me anything about this sword? It was bought by my dad sometime in the 70s.
Thanks

Hi Thor,
Looks to be some form of Kaskara sword
could well be a carry back tourist type piece, hard to tell from just a couple of pics,
but a few things look that way,
fullers, guard, etc,
be nice to be wrong though,

From the pics..it *looks* like an original 19th C "trade Blade" reused in a fairly correct tourist piece ? Nicely done

To my eyes as well.
The sword is a Saharan Touareg Takouba.

Thanks chaps. So, it seems the piece may in fact be a pretty decent one. Good thing we didn`t abuse it when I eas a kid (as we did with the tourist arab one)
