There's going to be a mounted combat event in Germany this summer (24th to 27th of July), covering a whole ton of different periods aiming to reconstruct them, including workshops, presentations and lectures. The aim is to make the mounted aspect more available to everyone.

The event's also running an indiegogo campaign to help out with the event.
