Recently I've been researching Jamie MacPherson, specifically, his sword.

For those of you who don't know who Jamie MacPherson is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Macpherson

Some of you may also have seen this thread on SFI: http://www.swordforum.com/forums/showthread.p...ost1108120

According to several sources online, the Sword of Jamie MacPherson is at the Duff House at Banff, near where he was executed. I contacted the Duff House and they informed me that it is not there, they never had it and they don't know where it is. They suggested I contact the Clan MacPherson museum.
The Clan MacPherson Museum informed me that they do not know where it is either, but they do have a drawing of it that was donated by a lady in Edinburgh in 1952 when the museum opened.

Here is the drawing, courtesy of the Clan Macpherson Museum, Newtonmore, Scotland.

Unfortunately, it's not signed and there is no way to be sure his is the real sword and not a Victorian fake.

I plan to keep searching for the sword itself, but as I am not in Scotland, I have to do it through email. So it may take a
while. Happy

Any information, thought or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

You might trying tracking down Sir Walter Scott's collection. He seemingly collected relics from many of the historical characters found in his writings. For instance he is alledged to have owned the dirk handle of Rob Roy MacGregor. I don't know the current whereabounts of the collection but believe the bulk of it resides in his house under the Trust.
