Early Firearms of Great Britain and Ireland is a goldmine of information on the subject, though the emphasis is on pistols rather than longarms. This is a Metropolitan Museum of Art publication, so the standard of information is extremely high. Extensive BW illus, with detailed descriptions and statistics.
