Pole Arm Books
I will be making a purchase of a Pole Axe very soon. Since the book store on the site is down, I searched amazon, though I do not even know the right words to type in, to make a proper seach. My main desire of the book is to learn about stance, any possible footwork, and of course; How should I hold the thing so as to look historically accurate. Any book suggestions would be appreciated.

Mid to late 15th century is my time period.
I've heard of this one:
Polearms of Paulus Hector Mair

I haven't read it but I'm sure other members here can offer you a more complete review...

Regards,
Fellow myArmoury member Hugh Knight has written a book on the subject http://www.myArmoury.com/talk/viewtopic.php?t...highlight=

I've ordered a copy for use with my own pollaxe but as the order is recent and it's Christmas time the mail is slow to deliver it.
Hello,

For a beginner Hugh Knight's book is probably better.

The Paulus Hector Mair book is just a translation and so it requires more interpretation to use.

Cheers,
Steven
