A very nice sword that anyone would like to own. (especially me!)

Why a viking?

Well, to just keep the whole continuum going---Celtic raider, marauding kern, Border Reiver...would just fit into the old family line of business....

Besides, I'm an attorney...Isn't that pretty similar in some ways? :lol:

Why would I want to be a Viking? How else would I get to Valhalla! Odhin's got a mead barrel with my name on it, and I'd hate to have it go bad.

A chance to see the world, and watch all its inhabitants running away.

Feared throughout Europe (and beyond) as a great warrior,

I would have style...look at those longships and weaponry, the gilding and craftsmanship,

I would have as my homeland some of the most starkly beautiful regions in the world...

Oh yes....Valhalla. Valkyries would escort me to the afterlife. Tough to beat.

Also, I'm over 6 ft and capable of a nice full beard (dark though it may be)...it's in me blood.

About half an hour ago my boss was about to eat his tasty burger when I went into his office, pushed him over AND PLUNDERED HIS MORSEL! MUAHAHA.

Also I am known to run around the office brandishing the blade off the guillotine and demanding staples.

I need this sword to complete my viking persona... And also my performance review is coming up and fear = cash :)

Why do I want to be a viking? Because my wife is always telling me I look like I should be one when we talk about genealogies. Besides, vikings have a proud history, and I remember always being fascinated by their mythologies growing up. Cool stuff.

Come on guys, it's in my blood! Rolf the Granger would want his descendant to have that sword!! MAKE ME A VIKING! ::grins::

Why a viking. Why not they get to have all the fun. Sailing, fighting, plundering, get to wear the cool outfits and play with long sharp swords and axes!

Actually... I already am a Viking! I'm in the military and our unit is known as the Vikings. Mostly because when we go someplace we seem to pillage and plunder... all the women and beer that is :) It would be much easier to get more free beer with a big sword at my side... hint hint hint. :lol:

My family has not gone viking for quite a while now, but I still consider it a heritage... maybe it just skipped ten generations. I study the ancient Scandinavians, including the vikingers, quite a bit in my spare time. Their mythology and the sagas are especially of interest. The impressivness of this blade would certainly be of use, and would certainly improve my persona's appearance. Besides that, I need to get in the mood to write, and wielding a sword is a good way to get it- so, a better sword should cause some better writing. Seems like a good career move to me.

I want to be a Viking so that I can grow my hair and beard out. As a Viking, no one would poke fun at my braided beard (or I would poke them back).

Really I did not want to be a viking...
They seemed to be a little pushy and did not play well with others. However after reading all these posts, I wouldn't want to miss out on such great company... So, sign me up for the next boat out... I do want to be a viking.
