English cavalry at Hastings?
I was reading this article here: http://www.myArmoury.com/feature_battle_hastings.html

On the deployment map, it shows a small group of English horsemen holding the flanks. I was under the impression that Anglo Saxons dismounted to fight, so were there actually cavalrymen present on the English side? If so, what quality would they be?

I don't know about English cavalry at Hastings, but they almost certainly had light infantry there. The closest I've been able to get at the moment is Earl Ralph the Timid's idea of having the fyrdsmen under his command fight mounted in the battle of Worcester (1055)--with disastrous results.
