Windlass has produced what is being called a "Bilbo Cut & Thrust" sword (MRL and Therion are both selling it). It's really a model 1796 Spanish cavalry sword, though (second attachment). Has anyone seen or handled this sword? I'm very interested in whether Windlass would be willing to alter the design a bit and come up with a double-shelled "boca de caballo" version to reproduce the 1728 pattern (first attachment), but as it would be based on this '96 version they have out, I'm wondering how it handles.
I like this one. The cuphilt on a blade that is not a rapier is pretty cool. I'd actually consider buying this sword soon if I didn't have to spend all the money on rent and new computer gear.
