Casey,
I wanted to add one note about Arms & Armor in relation to antique finishes, since you mentioned it in one of your posts:
Ian Wall, one of the craftsmen at Arms & Armor, has perfected a very impressive aging technique that can be applied to any of A&A's weapons. The degree of aging can range from what you would expect to find in blades from a relatively preserved medieval dig, to what you would encounter in a well stored and curated rapier. Some of the items in the Custom section of the Arms & Armor website have had this aging applied, (this Aged Hercules Knot Reitschwer for example), though the pictures don't do it justice. Combined with the other custom options they offer, I'm sure you would end up with a piece you'd treasure.
I know I treasure my Arms & Armor pieces, as will my children after me.
Good luck in your quest!
