Did Allan make some of Ken's armour? I thought Jeff Wasson made it.

The legs and the arms. The arms are modified 14/15th century arms with intergral spaulders ( which Jeff helped us with in the initial development ) using the elbow from 15th century arms and a much larger plate for the shoulder. The breast plate, helmet and I believe gauntlest were done at Jeff's.

I don't know Allan, and I've never ordered anything from him, but I wouldn't have registered here today if not for him and his work.

My harness (An investment of almost 8 grand) was stolen from my car a couple years ago at Faire.
It's been a struggle not only attempting to save that kind of cash again as I'm currently working odd jobs just to pay the bills in this economy, but a struggle to get the police to even take it seriously. And... I admit, a real struggle for me as I've always been one to trust in the better nature of man, willing to give every person I meet the benefit of living to the potential of his/her honor. It genuinely hurts a man like me to learn those kinds of lessons about people.

I'd just about given up on ever having a worthwhile harness again when I accidentally stumbled on Allan's website. The deals in contrast to the wonderful quality...
I had a brief moment of "This is too good to be true." before coming here to read the wonderful praise that confirmed my elation.
And now my passion isn't so far from my grasp anymore.
Happy

Needless to say, I'm soon to be a customer for life.

Here is my early 15th c harness, all of the plate shown is from Allan at the Merc Tailor. My kit is geared to be a little earlier (Agincourt to end of 100 years War) than Christopher's but I admit its a mixed bag. The Helm is from the Ukrainian armours guild Wink . I like the deep spaulders on this harness. I have always been very happy with Allan's work! I am missing a fauld and sabotons am building both by myself in the shop.

The first pic is just to show my MT leg harness, note that with the straps (something Allan is really really good at) and the pointing to my Revival arming shirt, none of that weight is on the shoulders. tr

I think this post may be a bit redundant, as I made some positive comments earlier in another thread, but I wanted to reiterate what great customer service they provide at MT. I just called early Saturday morning expecting to get voicemail because I had some questions about a recent order. Allan picked up and took care of me right away. Really dedicated to customers.

I thought I'd share this photo again, even though it was already in the Kits & Harnesses thread.

Sir Brian (on the left) has Merc Tailor vambraces, greaves, besegews, and gorget. On the right, I have Merc Tailor arms, legs, spaulders, and besegews (and the kit is still in progress, so no helm or gaunts yet. But it was really too hot of a day for a helm anyway).
