Don't know if the decoys worked but there was a substantial sudden jump in the donations. Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Although I'm still trying to get a many people as possible to contribute the $10 needed to qualify for the prize of a Michael Pikula Spear there does seem to quite a few people who are giving a lot more than this amount and giving the Total a good boost. Cool

Soon I may have to redesign my graphic or rescale things as we reach or possibly surpass the objective.

If we do surpass the objective it just means more money for " surprises " : Good surprises in new features or prizes or as a buffer for bad surprises if unexpected costs have to be met by Nathan. ( A little surplus is always a good thing to have and at the very least can be a jumpstart on next's years expenses ..... Just guessing and can't speak for Nathan about any specifics ).

A risk to overcome.

We were at sea far from land, rowed for weeks and weeks, the land was finally horizon.
The goal was near.
All tired, we stopped rowing. Everyone thought that my friends would have rowed for me.
The currents, bring, the boat in a different direction.
Here there is absolute need of a "decoy" to avoid running this risk. Happy

I threw a little in the pot yesterday to make up for all the missing cents. Wink

Thanks for making up for the " missing " cents. Wink Big Grin Cool

Well, getting close, very close to the Donation Objective and here is a " NEW " graphic to follow the progression of the amounts. Wink

Since I was running out of " Jerry Can Room " I decided to start filling up the " myArmoury " Charger directly from the pump.

Finding the gas cap location was a challenge as well as the serious risk of getting kicked unscrewing the cap. Razz Wink

I bet on this horse as a first arrival.
Jean, if you're the knight, you are a little short . Eek! Laughing Out Loud
But maybe it's better this way, the jockeys are usually short and slender.
I'll make you a present, a pair of new spurs, Jean. Wink

Well over $2700 ....... Oh, NO the gas tank is " FULL " ..... what to do ? WHAT TO DO ????

Ah, add a Jerry can for the overflow which is at $15 at the moment.

The pressure is sort of off but then it is still usefull to add a reserve and other people can contribute and get a chance at winning the prize. Wink Big Grin

But I will admit that it was a nice surprise to come here tonight and see that we exceeded the goal since my last visit last night: Thanks everyone. Big Grin Cool

Just a short " BUMP " as the Donation drive is not over until the 14th of September and that although the target has been reached, as in most donations drives, one can still find a use for extra funds at the very least as an emergency reserve. Wink Cool

And the Spear head prize is still a good reason to donate. Wink

I'll just keep bumping up until the last day every day or two. Wink Big Grin

Still going up " slowly ": Still about a week to go and you can still qualify for the prize for a $10 donation if you haven't already donated or upgraded your membership.

Close to $3000. Wink Cool Last year was easier to get people to contribute above the target amount and it's understandable considering the economy and I'm very happy with the results, but until it's over the fund drive isn't over. Wink Laughing Out Loud

Hmm, good to hear myArmoury's goal was achieved, Mr. T. For what its worth, as
others have bumped this up with their comments and praise, I'd like to state that
after checking a humane-society site and my email, myArmoury is virtually always
my next online stop.

I look forward to sword reviews done by members and industry professionals
alike. myArmoury's reviews have always contributed to my decisions to purchase
certain swords, and the quality of its graphics are second to none I know. AND,
without a doubt, HERE is where my quest for the Polish Hussar Saber with L-hilt
and thumb-ring began.

With that said, I'm sure achieving this goal is load off of the adminstrators' minds.

Of course, with that lil extra, I'm sure they'll be off to the dog-track soon, or maybe
Vegas with hopes of increasing the pot ... *

* joke

Actually I'm waiting for us to reach the 10 million dollar mark to abscond with the money and move to Costa Rica ( No extradition I think. Razz Razz Razz ) ( JOKE: In case it isn't obvious ).

So just the regular " BUMP ": I've pretty much said everything I can think of already in my numerous previous Posts. Wink Big Grin

Sure the Donations are coming in very slowly at the moment, and we have exceeded the goal, so it's not a worry, but I must say that even one extra donation by someone who is a new member or someone who has been around a long time but rarely posts makes me very happy. Wink Big Grin Cool

At the risk of embarrassing him I want to thank Troy G L Williams for his donation ( The first one after my last Bump last night ).

I can't thank each one of you individually, and it isn't just about the money, but mostly having more people who take the trouble and send in an amount they can afford, and it's another person who has a chance at winning the spear head by Michael Pikula. Wink Cool

Also those of you who have been around a long time, post a great deal, get a benefit from the existence of this site and haven't contributed yet I just ask you to consider making that small donation. ( Sorry for the slight " arm twisting " here as I really don't want to " guilt " people into contributing. Wink Razz Laughing Out Loud ).

If it gives any perspective I think it's the first year that the Jerry Lewis Telethon failed to beat it's previous year's donation total:
So I guess raising funds this year is very challenging and expectations have to take the bad economy in mind.

I hope this finds you all well as I am in Iraq attempting to heal from a rocket attack. Not so fun let me tell ya. Anyway, I thank everyone in advance. This is a great website and I enjoy reading the forums.

Well your donation made my day and happy if my comment made yours. Big Grin Cool

By the way did a little search and found this quote from you in 2007, and wondering how the healing from the rocket attack turned out ? Best wishes then and best wished now. Big Grin Cool

In regards to the rocket attack, I'm doing well. Just some weird looking scars. Walking and talking so I cannot complain. My wife is on her way to Afghanistan now. She is in the Army Reserves and recently activated. I will see her next year around this time.

This is a wonderful site and the majority of the folks are genuine. It is like a small family. Thanks again.

I'm tired tonight so it's going to be a quick and boring " BUMP ". Wink Big Grin

Up to $2871 at this writing.

Oh and thanks to Tim Lison, a previous prize winner for his donation ( Most recent in the donor list as of this writing ).

Tim has donated more than once during this fund drive, and a few other people have done the same, so as he had already done his bit, and a bit more, to help another donation is very nice. Wink Cool

We are getting close to about 100 donors although people enhancing their memberships are not listed they are also adding to the total of donors and the amount donated ( So thanks to everyone including those not mentioned ).

Entrants must be made prior to contest close on Monday Sep 14, 2009 at Midnight PST. All participants will be entered into a drawing and the winning name will be randomly selected later that same day.
