If I remember it right, Patrick Kelly or an early reviewer/ recipient perceived some similarities and compared the two.

I believe we were comparing the Vigil and the Knight in that thread. The Sovereign is a very different sword than those two, in it's dynamic qualities. The Sovereign is a fine sword and one of my favorites from Albion. I've always wanted one for myself but other things always seem to get in the way. It's one of those swords that makes a very strong first impression, congratulations on a fine first purchase Jason.

finally!

But worth the wait! I have actually had the sword since last week but have not been on the intertubes. All my free time has been spent between ogling and oiling. Happy

This is my first sword ever. I'm glad I found you guys and learned a little about "real" swords first. Otherwise I might have ended up with some POS SLO. So a big THANK YOU to myArmoury and all the members here.

What a thing of beauty. The blade arrived with no damage or rust. The finish is, in a word, sublime. Photos do not do proper justice. I would like to go over the finish myself with a light grey scotchbright pad, as soon as I can get my hands on one. Just a few errant marks here and there if you look just right in the proper light. Not bad, just marks where the lines in the finish are not perfectly parallel with the surrounding marks.

I had promised myself I would not cut anything with this blade but I could not resist having a go at a couple of deerpark bottles today at lunch. I even did OK having read about proper grip, stance and form.

I tried to take some photos but I do not have the proper lighting set up for taking pics as good as some of you guys.

If I ever get some good pics in the can I will be sure to post them here.

The price of freedom is the willingness to do sudden battle, anywhere, at any time, and with utter recklessness.
