Albion Vigil; Custom Handmade Scabbard
Hello myArmoury community!

I have completed my first Albion Vigil scabbard commission, and I would like to share it with everyone. This scabbard was influenced by my Albion Prince scabbard, and the client gave me artistic liberty to come up with a unique design fitting of the Albion Vigil.

Colors are: scabbard body is a custom tan, and the suspension is a Albion ox blood.

Please feel free to chime in with commentary & discussion, as everyone is welcome to do so. More images & other commission's can be seen on my site!

As always, Brian, your work is amazing. I especially like the double-wrap belts that you do. Colors coordinate excellently. Well done!
As usual, breathtaking! Really nice work Brian. I like the grip on the Vigil too. It's the same as I ordered on mine and it's making crazy with anticipation looking at it! I really like the hint of an X pattern with pips on the scabbard. Makes for a nice match with that grip.
Thank you gentlemen. Just in case anyone was wondering, this is how the double-belt suspension works. The idea is to let the lower belt hang loose (adjustable) so that the scabbard angle is not limited, which is usually the case with only a single-belt design. With a double-belt, you're also able to adjust/move the scabbard to a comfortable angle so that sitting on a bench is possible without having to remove the setup altogether.

Another truly amazing rig Brian. As others here have said, your work just keeps getting better and better. I am not sure how you keep doing it but please do not stop.

I also really like the double belt. Are there any historical examples in art or effigies that led you to this design?

Scott
Gentlemen, gentlemen, gentlemen, there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING amazing about
this work. Nothing at all ...

... because it appears to me BK has set a high and excellent standard for himself AND
what he creates, then works toward achieving his goals and measuring up to his personal
standards again and again. With the results speaking loud and clear for themselves ...
Scott- No I don't have any historical examples of exactly what I make. It was something I came up with on my own based on my experience as a scabbard maker, and idea's created from double-belt suspensions historically. The end result is something I consider highly plausible, and for myself it is extremely comfortable.

Matthew - Thank you very much. I do have high standards, and I carefully watch the details.
Things I like:

* The pattern on the body of the scabbard that reminds me of the grip.
* The eye-like design near the chape.
* The fittings (Chape, belt designs, decoration in general).
* The idea and execution of the double wrap belt.

Things I don't like:

* Not having one.

Great work as usual :)

Hmmmmm, tempting, tempting. :D
Brian, I've been admiring your work for some time now, and I must say that I have become a fan. Your ability to turn out these amazing scabbards at the price and time that you do is simply phenominal.
Another beautiful and beautifully executed piece of artwork...

Brian has made several scabbards/belts for me, and all I can say is "It was really worth it!" I'm always a bit hesitant to jump into something like a custom commission for arms & armour. But with Brian, it was a no-brainer. Such a true artist with a head for business and excellent customer service is rare indeed. :)
I took some more pictures before I shipped.
