Another "Hi" To Everyone
Hi Nathan,

Much like Joe Fults, I wanted to say howdy to all. I've finally created a login, and
it's really awesome to see some old faces here that I've not seen in a while. This
website is really well done, and from what I've seen goes a long way towards
encouraging and forwarding the sword collecting hobby. I hope to post more in
the future once I get caught up on life (just got married, and off of military leave
right after that).

My only question at the moment is, when do we get the Scottish forum up and
going? ;)

Nathan, I hope to give you a call some time in the future. Hopefully on my next
break.

Again, good job Nathan, and hullo to friends old and new.

Alex
I really hope things here are kept simple without the plethora of forums that other places have. In my most humble opinion, I find that the cross posting of middle eastern, medieval, ancient, renaissance and others adds to my knowledge. With the segmented forums I don't feel as comfortable.

Besides, all those Scots in one place make a helluva ruckus and odor! :!: :p
Hi Alex!

Glad to see you made it!

Dave
Hi Alex,

Nice to see you.

Ever going to make it back to Ohio? We've not had a sword collectors get together since you've been away, lost our host I guess.

BTW how's married life treating you?
Hi Alex, good to hear from ya, and congratulations!

It really is good to "see" some of the old faces around again!

Right now it seems we're fairly heavy on the Ohio boys, I wouldn't mind seeing a gathering in the near future again, either, Joe.

"Chad A." is around here quite frequently, too. Maybe between us we could think of a future Ohio gathering spot---maybe even a Cincy venue? Rose and Thistle is always nice as well, tho.

Anyways, good to see the old dyed-in-the-wool Scotsman over here.
Greetings Captain Alexander !

Your Sgt. Major is here , readying the local clansmen, and awaiting your orders ......

Captain Wilson , and some of the lads, already arrived with the early scouting party .....
Will the Colonel be joining us ?

Yeah, maybe we could do an Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana gathering in the Cincy area.

Sounds great to me! :D
Got any places in mind? Or perhaps folks come come in and arrange it around/after/near the Celtic Culture festival in Cincy (Sept. 26-28)

Up for a bit of a road trip Alex? ;)
Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Nate! I wondered where you'd gone-- it's good to see you again. Same to you Joe! About another
Ohio area gathering, I'm all up for one as soon as I get home, hopefully late October. Meaning
I might be able to attend/help organise something in November, once I get us settled into whatever
place we end up living at. R and T works, and Cinci sounds good too. I wonder if Nicholson's
downtown could hook us up? :)

Sgt-Major in exile. I know not where the Col is. I think he was taken in chains to the Tower and
forced to sign a loyalty oath, but I don't know. I heard he was arrested while having a new pair
of boots made! ;) Hope he finds time to pop in for a visit though.

As for how is life treating me; it's up and down. I'm always one for travel, so coming down
to someplace new is okay, though to be honest there's not much happening in Sumter, SC.
To give you an idea of how little, the big thing here is to go to the new Super Walmart and
sit on the patio furniture for sale outside the store. But we've gotten to Charleston and Columbia,
both nice towns, and I've been to Savannah and Aiken, also nice towns. The military part
is a bit grinding. Twelve hour+ days get old, and for some reason the military seems to be
set up to function around the least common denominator, in this case the 19 year old that
always gets in trouble. Meaning it's a bit on the restrictive side. But I, and we, are coping.
So far the plus side outweighs the minus side, so in the end it'll have been worth it. I can
truly say though that I'll be one happy pup when I make it back home. The sword collection
is slowly growing. New Vince Evans dirk, new Eljay basket coming soon, and a
new Vince basket sometime late this year.

Take care all!

Alex

PS. Here's a photo of me and the Old Lady (just kidding
about that honey!): at St Luke's in Charleston
