The various european schools of swordsmanship
Are there any differences between the german, italian and spanish schools of swordsmanship? Is the main difference the kind of weapons being used or were the systems developed for different enviroments etc?

For example the difference between boxing and kickboxing is quite obvious, one only allows punches. But there are differences in training scheme and also stances between these two.

My only knowledge of these schools come from Wikipedia so it is not so much of what you can call knowledge from my side.

Cheers
Jimmie
