Cuttoe
Here's my latest effort.

I was asked by a good friend to hilt a briquet blade (with all the finesse of a housebrick) and turn it into something more elegant and refined. This is the end result. Apart from the blade, the only bought-in component is a GGG S-shaped guard. The rest is all me!

I think it looks great, but that over-thick blade makes it handle like a crowbar!

Very niiiiice!

Where did you get the guard?
A very good work!

The pommell is so for a reason (a museum piece, illustration, etc) or it's a your invention? And the balance?
Thanks for the positive comments.

Jim, the S-shaped guard is a brass casting from Godwin's swords (you'll find lots of references on this forum). The clam shell I carved myself.

Gabriele, this hilt is kind of a generic one I drew up from various hangers and cuttoes - there are dozens out there with similar characteristics. The pronounced tang button and disc pommel cap is a common feature of many. They really have more in common with large knives than proper swords, and tend to be a bit blade-heavy for obvious reasons. This one has a particularly thick cross-section and is even more so. I would personally have preferred a thinner, fullered blade.
