Oooh... That one does look really good. Thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind.

Though, the second one looks like a totally different helm (or, visor, more like). Does it have a fox face on it, or something? Haha

I think the goal on this one was to make it look like a bird, following the grotesque fashion of the 16th century. Happy

Juste take a look :

That Pavel Marek armour looks off somehow (the ones on his site, too). The occularia seem ill-sized and the proportions and shapes are not as close to historical as they could be for my tastes. Mileage may vary of course.

Well, it's kinda hard to find any helm of this type that is both historically correct, well-built and inexpensive. Even the cheapest armet from Steel Mastery is around 500 euro.

Worried to be perfectly honest, Margot, I think you ought to go with an open faced sallet helm. From an artistic standpoint, you have a nice face, and you shouldn't hide it for costume purposes.

Or, a Bourgeonette 16th century but it depends on the rest of your kit and if you are trying for a specific period:

Or, an articulated neck sallet:

Maybe out of your price range but I have one of the sallet and it sits low on the head i.e. not top heavy and fairly light for it,s size: This can be important if you wear it for hours at a time because a heavy closed held that is also top heavy soon becomes less than fun to wear. Wink

Cheaper option for a sallet:

And finally a barbute that covers most of the face but has good vision and breathing characteristics:

This one is heavy but at least not top heavy and covers most of the face and is as close to a closed helm you can get and not have a closed helm.

You can easily give up your freedom. You have to fight hard to get it back!
