For any other man's,
Nor that I will be ashamed
Of my work torn hands-

For I have chosen the path I tread
Knowing it would be steep,
And I will take the joys thereof
And the consequences reap.

Very beautiful ben. Then again I've come to expect nothing less. It's really wonderful to be around so many talented artists here such as yourself. Great work. Simple and to the point.

I am not familiar with the style of knife you are working towards so can't comment on that side, but I can say that this is a really nice piece with clean flowing proportioned lines - I like it and it looks like it would feel good in the hand.

Good work

Tod

PS. I love the poem too

That is a very good work. A bit of a hybrid of the sundang and itak design from the south.
That hilt design is usually used in blades of about 12 inches or less though. The blade from our house bolo was a little over a foot in length and was fitted with the traditional "kamagong" (dark hard-wood) hilt and angled pommel.
