Hi
New to the forum, found it by following a thread I can't now locate. If this post is in the wrong place please advise.
The thread I was following concerned Loop-Hilt swords.

I've recently acquired one (ID'd on another forum) and would like to know more about it.
Steel hilt, much shortened straight blade, interesting extra loop on guard plus bracing strut.

Interested in date, country of origin and general history.
I'll post more info as requested and if the thread progresses

Many thanks

An interesting example. The blade and pommel are somewhat similar to a late 17th century military small sword I owned at one point ( which was French ). I have an 18th century loop hilt that seems " dainty " compared to yours. Something about the way the bars of the hilt are gives yours a much hartier look.
