Very nice! I have to admit I like the Urnes knife even better; that would be the perfect camp knife. I wish I had the $ to buy it :)
Was almost expecting another kind of pictures when I read the topic.... lol.

Anyway, very nice woodwork on this one ! Is this copper inlay on the blade ?
Bravo!!

This is an impressive knife and shows an excellent execution of copper and silver inlay. I am especially impressed with the silver-inlaid lettering that looks to be quite clean and beautiful..

Really a great knife- thanks for sharing this!

This knife & scabbard appears nearly perfect to me. I really like the blade's proportions & curves, & (as usual) your carving is astonishing. The back side inlay looks especially interesting.

Above words inadequate. The Miss Universe of Seaxes? :-) At least a finalist.

fwiw as $ out of reach. Hope someone with more resources notices it!
Beautiful; I would love to own something like that one day.
Thanks for all the kind words.

Copper and silver.
That is a beautiful piece. Whenever I see something like this, I like to imagine what someone from the time and place where the originals were made would have thought of it. I think anyone from Dark Ages Northern Europe would have been ecstatic to own this seax, and would have wanted it to be buried with them.
Pleasing proportions!
