Gaddhjalt
I'm wondering who makes a Gaddhjalt type viking sword. I'm a member in the SCA but I am trying to get my kit to living history standards. So far I am doing decent I beleive. I just need a sword to top it off. I really like the brazil nut pommel and the long cross of the "Gaddhjalt". I know albion makes one that would be perfect but I cant spend 800 bucks on my 1st sword. Is there anyone else who makes one?

Only Paul Binns' is a proper Gaddhjalt. All others are later brazil-nut models. They may not be exactly what you are looking for.
With some luck, you might also find a used Albion 1st gen Gaddhjalt. Could likely be gotten for less than the NextGen, but would likely be hard to find.
(I have one, and it is quite nice--and no, I'm not parting with it ;))
Dear Mr. Taylor,

There's also the Del Tin 2133, at the same link that Mr. Lamadrid posted above.

And Arms & Armor offer their #145 St. Maurice Sword. I'm afraid it costs $820, which I know is more than your limit. But if you ask them to make you one without the engraving it will probably be less expensive. Whether that will bring it into your price range, I can't say.

Museum Replicas Ltd.'s Ulfberht Sword may also work for you, as may their Late Norman Sword, produced with a green suede grip-wrapping, Brazil-nut pommel, and gaddhjalt cross; there are pictures of the latter in this thread. Regrettably, it's out of production, so you'll probably only find it on the secondary market. As Sean Flynt often says, MRL's swords, while not always ideal products as bought, make excellent kits for improvement.

I hope that this proves helpful.

Best,

Mark Millman
