Hey, guys -

I'm going to be making a mail coif and I can tell I'll have trouble figuring out how to make the top part of it, where all the links come together. I've done some searching and haven't found any useful links or information. Can anyone here help me with this?

Thanks in advance

Hey Jacob. I've made some butted ring costume pieces and I start with one or two rings for the crown with eight or so rings in the next row and for the next few rows add an additional extra ring or two until I get to the row that goes all the way round at about sixty rings. I guess if you are working up toward the crown , you would reduce each or every other row until you get to your terminal row of seven or eight rings into the final one (or two for strength). I'll send a picture if you like. A good resource is M.A.I.L. maille artisans international league. There are many tutorials and helpful folks and not much b.s.
Hope this helps,W.

Thanks, guys - this is what I need. I was searching with the wrong terms, I guess - I was getting fantasy chainmail lingerie results, haha
