Knife of Aragorn, anyone have one?
although I have several custom pieces, this will be myfirst UC item. From the time I saw it, I really liked the knife Aragorn was given by Celeborn. I won the e-bay auction and now it's on its it's way to me. Anyone have one of these? is it sharp? Is it a functioning knife or just a dispay piece? Just curious and I like the way the knife looks.

I could be very wrong about this, but my guess is, that it is not "functional". My guess is, that like all the other UC Lord of the Rings weapons, it is going to have a stainless steel blade, and a rat tail tang.
This is just a guess though. Congrats winning the auction though, I hope you enjoy the new piece, i have to agree that some of the Lord of the Rings weapons are really attractive. Enjoy!
I have one. The knife that it comes with can be considered functional, and appears to be full tang.

And it's the sharpest instrument I own. I mean if you look at it wrong it will slice your eyeballs. It's VERY sharp. When you get it, you'll have fun slicing paper with it.
Whoops, my mistake, I was commenting on the companion dagger on Aragorn's sheath.

I don't think the dagger can be considered functional because I do no believe it is full tang. But it should come very sharp, and as long as you don't use it to parry blades and smack hard objects, it will probably hold up well.
Be INteresting to take it apart
I'll try ans see if there is a way to dismantle it and get a look at the tang. I am curious now to see what's inside. I'll also hunt around to see if there are some photos of it being constructed. I'll let you guys know. Brown cutlery lists the knife as coming sharpened.
The tang might concern me if you're going to be torquing it around or whatever, but remember: stainless steel is actually completely acceptable for some knives. I believe the trouble starts once you exceed a certain size, although I'm not sure what that size is.
Oh, and I guess temper would be a concern either way, since no ranger looks very cool with a warped, bent-up knife. ;)

It IS a nice looking piece, though. Be sure to let us know about it when it arrives.
