It obviously doesn't fit inside an historical context, but maybe in the future if the R&D list is ever exhausted. We have had a few requests over the years for it.

Yes, I agree with the Historical context issue.
However, given the location I live , your two options are the SCA, or whatever foam fighting and bean bag throwing crap the local LARP group is doing this week.
No WMA or Living History 
So given the "sport" nature of the SCA anyway, I prefer the low maintenance and durability of stainless.
I still love the design of your gaunts though!  Would a bottle of fine Bourbon change your mind to making an "experimental" pair?
