Some arms displays from York Castle Museum
I popped down to York today and visited the Castle Museum. It was more for my wife than for myself, so I wasn't expecting to find that much that stood out for me, but there were some interesting displays that I thought might interest you (the last is quite obviously my personal favourite):

Nice photos. Thanks for posting.
4th photo: it's this some sort of protection? Like a gambeson, or only a dress? I can't distinguish which one...

5th photo: now I am prepared for a stroll in the woods :p

Looks like a 17th c. buff coat--a defense of very thick leather, popular with light cavalry and sometimes worn with a breast and zischagge helmet.

A nice reproduction of the long-sleeved type just sold in the Marketplace here:

It is a buff from the 17th indeed. In fact likely owned by a fairly important mover and shaker of that period. The sleeves are well padded as well and are of fabric not leather.... I am glad it is out now. Another example of late padded armours. Interesting mix of leather and fabric. Everytime I saw it (which was fairly often) I thought how cool it would be on display. Look very nice out there. A great museum for you 16th and 17th century reenactors. If anyone fits in that group and is in York let me know if you will be stopping by there.

Thanks to the magic of megapixels I've managed to get a fairly servicable close up of the information about the buff coat for you. It confirms what the others have said:
