Hi all,

after several years of activity in the "recreationist" scene I've recently started to do 14th C. living history as well - I'm playin' with a number of people from northern Germany and the main focus of these groups is local/regional as well. As things have evolved till now, part of my portrayal will be to show how municipal military defense worked, so I'll run around as a "Kriegsknecht" or a citizen at military duty (depending on how fast my kit will evolve).

There's one question where I hope the readers of this board will help me with some insight: I'm currently looking into buying my first sword :) . I've discovered a nice reproduction of a late 14th C. sword made after a French find. What I'm wondering is how "universal" sword/hilt/pommel shapes were for (continental) Europe during the time frame I'm looking at.

Thanks in advance! :)

cheers,
Christian
