"Faintheart", anyone seen it yet?
I've come across this trailer and thought that it might interest members of the community, for obvious reasons.

Has anyone actually seen it? Is it respectful, or does it just take the Mick, as the trailer suggests? And more importantly, is it actually funny?
To be even handed here, it must be said that re-enactment is an odd, and slightly funny hobby. Then again so are 4-wheel driving, golf, ballroom dancing, playing a non-modern instrument....
Take the Mick? That's a new one on me, what does it mean?
Apparently, it's Cockney slang meaning "to ridicule or make fun of". Whatever did we do before Google? ;)

From that, I gather that the film was not entirely complimentary of reenactors. Unkind jests were possibly made at their expense. Hopefully, everyone has enough of a sense of humor about themselves to not take offense. As Nat rightly points out, strange hobbies are everywhere, though some do seem to take it on the chin more than others.
Personally, I've yet to understand golf.

But, that movie looks to be interesting. Do wonder why the reenactor stereotype has them working shite jobs, though...how does one afford a good coat of maille on a minimum wage job?

M.
Sometimes you can really be surprised. People involved in historical hobbies come from all sorts of backgrounds and professions. And if people are dedicated enough, they can find ways to do it on the cheap. For instance, you can make your own mail (though it would probably not be riveted unless you're really dedicated) fairly inexpensively.
The first bit, I think, is taken from a Nokia commercial. I think I recognize the battle in the castle. It's an eastern European reenactment group.

But what group hasn't thought of putting out their own movie?
I've watched the trailer three times now and can't wait to see the film. Looks like it should be pretty funny. I'll download it as soon as it's available and share my thoughts.
Trailor is good for a laugh at least. :D
