Range of Helms in the Fifteenth Century
So what kind of helms were common in the Fifteenth Century? Ideally, what kind of helms were common in the middle of the century, about from 1444 to 1462 or so? I ask this because I would like to acquire a helm from that period and I'm not sure what to pick. So far, I've only seen sallets and kettle hats from the specific period I'm talking about. If you know anymore I would be pleased to find out.

Ideally, what helm offers the best balance between protection and vision (when a visor is raised)?
