I'd like to share with everyone my latest project. It is a custom hand-made scabbard for a Angus Trim Flared Shoulder Type XII.

The project included:
Traditional high-end cord wrapped grip
Custom detail work on the guard, and coloring the pommel to match
Detailed tooling
Suspension hardware with decor
Multi-layered coloring on both the scabbard & suspension

Brian, this is becoming so repetitive. You post a scabbard project, and it's beautiful. Everyone drools and wants one. Can't you make something once in a while that's not beautiful... or maybe even bordering on ugly? ;) :D

You know I'm kidding, but seriously, your work is at the level of "Hmmm... What can be realistically improved?" Maybe forging your own custom hilt pieces or scabbard fittings? Or maybe using exotic leather like elephant, ostrich, anaconda, or lizard skin? What'll be next?!

Great work on this scabbard and hilt package! Everytime I look at your scabbards, then look at my sword collection, I can't help making a long mental list of scabbards I would love to have you make for me.

That is vicious awesome. I like the clash of "light tan" and "orange tan" you have on that rig. The decoration across the belt (the circular things that have no name I know of) is also really nice.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. There are a select few scabbards I have done that I particularly feel are favorites of mine, and this would be one of them.

If you want one, then set aside money to buy one. I'm very happy with the Albion Yeoman scabbard Brian did. Good quality stuff. Only thing, I wish you made the wood a tad thicker around the base of the sword. I can't fault you too much though Brian, 3 inches at the base is very wide and as a result its hard to make a scabbard uniformly indestructible on a sword that has such a drastic profile. Still, great work regardless.

I like the tooling in the area where a theoretical locket would go the most. There are a lot of features(non symetric, like side bars) in the belt that remind me of medieval illuminated manuscripts. I am wondering if you have had some custom made stamps made for you at this point? If not, the results are as good as could be hoped for even if you had. Enviously extended contratuations!

All of my tooling is done with pre-made tools. I haven't had any custom tools made for me, yet. I do a lot of freehand design carving with historical examples in mind, and then add some artistic liberties to make it my own.
