I am currently working on a persona of a German Squire or Knight during the 1375-1415 Era.

I am finding it hard to find a good resource for german involvement in the hundred years war. I am looking
for any possible persons or groups who may have hired out and fought with the English.

I am rather new to this era of history but want to learn.

Does anyone have any websites or books they would suggest I start reading?

Thanks

Spence

Christopher Allmand's book " The Hundred Years War" has a little bit about Germans belonging to mercenary groups out of Italy called routiers. You may want to browse through it at your library since your interest is not the primary focus of the book.

jonathan sumption's Hundred Years War volumes are loaded with involvement of Germans so that might help. Massive volumes though.

Thanks go out to both of you. I will check my library for them.

Also sorry to the mods for not originally posting this in the appropiate place, and thanks for moving me!

Huh? Germans were everywhere in the Hundred Years' War. Many French troops were drawn from eastern regions that are now part of Germany, not to mention the mercenaries...

Anyway, you'd probably be interested in the first chapter of Brian Ditcham's book here:
