Hey Bill,

That pole hammer is super cool looking. Is the shaft dyed darker than A&A's typical? I like it!

If I could just get past my obsession with the High Middle Ages I would get one! Confused

Hi Al,
The whole length is about 53 inches.

Thanks Bill. How does that compare to the axes in Talhoffer and Palus Kal?

It works fine for the techniques. Technically, the ones in Kal are really long, but if you look at Fiore, those are much shorter. And historical poleaxes seem to come in many lengths.

I'm increasingly interested in learning but right now I know next to nothing about appropriate poll axes for that kind of work but the beak on the head of the A&A ones seems a little short for hooking techniques and at 6'2" I'm guessing I'd need a longer haft than the one on yours?

I'm 6' 2" as well, and I find the length quite easy to manage with every poleaxe technique I know. I wouldn't worry too much about the length.

I think its the same color, but I'm not totally sure. Maybe Craig can answer that?

What a great time for a box like this to show up. I was unaware that Santa spent time in Minnesota at this time of year though. They are all great looking BIll and I am very jealous. I had a chance to see the pole hammer at the Bristol Ren Faire but went with an Iberain mace instead. Oh well, hopefully they will bring it out as a standard item.

The nice thing about this to me at least is that there are a couple of more itmes off of Craig's list which means I have hopefully moved up on his list!

Great items Bill and enjoy them all.
