FOR SALE: Early 18th Century Dutch Hanger / Cutlass by ODF $950
This Hanger was made by Kyle Willard of Old Dominion Forge, one of the most respected makers of 17th/18th century knives and swords.

Kyle says, " this piece was inspired by an early hanger that I saw at the Frasier Museum in Louisville."

It has a simple clam shell design guard with an ebony grip. The slightly curved blade is 24" long with one fuller and is 1 1/8th inches wide.

The pommel and grip are fairly typical of the type used by several countries during the 1690-1730 time frame (English, French, German etc.), and the blade is marked with the VOC of the Dutch East India Company

Living History/ Re-enactor wise, it would fit for any conflict or time period from 1700 through the American Revolution. This sword would be at home For Golden Age of Piracy, French and Indian War, and War of American Independence, and is typical of the types of hangers of the period found in Swords and Blades of the American Revolution.
This sword comes with a period style scabbard.
