I only hope I'm one of the lucky few who get the chance to win one of the great swords featured on your site. Thanks for the chance and for all the helpful information contained on the site.

Very nice Big Grin

The large globe pommel gives it some real character.

Really, really cool!
A nice looking sword, and again - one of the top 10 or so i would love to own is being offered in a myArmoury contest.

I must say that this site has grown since the first days after a forum was added to it.
It was a good site from the very beginning, but now i consider it to be no 1# in its area of interesse.

Very well done Nathan and moderators and supporters, you make me ashamed that i am not a donating member.
(Lets just say my wallet is really thin these days..)

Good work! Cool

And good luck fellow members, i don't think i have a chance myself, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed.

/Fredrik.

Wow.... I think equisitely beautiful is an extreme understatement.

Many thanks to E.B. Erickson and Angus Trim for donating such a lovely sword.

Good luck to everyone, I know my fingers and toes are well and truly crossed Happy

Well….

I can say that it is a mighty fine sword. I was thinking about comparing it to Nathan’s Vince Evans basket hilt, but that would unfair, so I will take it on it own merits.

Fit and Finish.
Blade is satin finished and all the lines are straight. Baskets’ form is eye pleasing, fit is superb, finish as well. Only minor thing I nit-picked on was the finish on the pommel seam.

Gripping.
The palm of my hand measures 4” across and my fist measures 12” around at my knuckles. I can grip this sword just perfectly. My hand is firmly, but not awkwardly or discomfortably so, wedged between the guard and the pommel and my knuckles clear the bars. The basket is small enough so that it does not bind on the wrist when twisting the hand about with moulinets (sp).

Handling.
I LIKE this sword, A LOT. It is very fast (accelerating easily), sits well in the hand, is well balanced, tracks in a cut well, thrusts easily, easily controlled at the end of motions and rips in false edge cuts. My only notes of discontent are, I would personally like a longer blade and the weight does not transfer in the swing. The second part is a personal feel of the blade and may not be apparent to others. But, that is to say, in hand, the blade weight feels like it is in the COP weather held vertical or during a swing, there is no change of weight and no sense of that point of um-paa when the blades is fully committed just before impact.

All in all, a sword I want.

Clear as mud, eh.

Cheers

I hereby decree that if a female wins, they MUST take pictures of them weilding the sword and post them.

If I thought it'd improve my chances, I'd offer pictures now. *Grin* But then, I believe that'd be called bribery and that's just unethical.

Thanks, bud! *grin* But, if this is a random contest, then wishing, hoping, and rooting will avail me nothing. *sadface* But I appreciate your support anyways!
