Hello!
My name is Vince,
and i was wondering... did the french ever wear a visor on their Bascinets? And if so what kind klapp or side hinge, i have looked at many models from museums and have seen many northern Italian,German, and even Swiss! They all have some kind of visor but i cannot seem to find one that is of French origen.
A masterpiece should not be judged by its appearance, but by a powerful display of dignity. For when a child draws a picture it becomes a masterpiece, because of the love, honesty, and time less effort of its creation.

Do you mean " French Bascinet " as in worn by the French or made by the French or of a style specific to the French ?
Armour seems to have been made by the Germans and Italians for the export market that would have included the French but I'm not sure if there was a French armour industry ?
Export armour might be in German or Italian style or modified to the tastes of the local market to a small or greater degree I think.
