The size seems practical such that I think an owner would be happy to wear and use it for show it at events.
I love the pattern welded blade. Was it a deliberate random pattern (beaten over ball bearings and such), or more of a linear stack that just turned out that way in grinding? Number of layers?

I intended the blade much more as a tool than a weapon, even if at that size the line is thin!
The pattern developped "by itself" with stretching and grinding; I did not forced any random on it. There is close to 200 layers.

The wood is maple burl given to me by a friend, one of the nicest maple I've handled. It is treated with tung oil.
