Greetings!
I wish to announce that we of the School of the Renaissance Soldier are hosting another event, this time in Washington State, entitled "North Country Muster". It's a full-immersion, three day historical reenactment with it's focus on the last decades of the 16th Century, though more fully it is to study the drill and tactics of the "Era of the Pike", roughly 1500-1650. The dates for this event are October 3, 4 & 5 2008.
The event will entail a military camp, and a muster with drill. Participants will be portraying Pikemen, Shotte (with matchlock calivers or muskets), and Horse in the form of Launciers, Harquebusiers, Border Staves and perhaps even Dragoons . There will of course be participation in the Camp for those who have little interest in martial prowess. Here is a short video we put together showing some of our activities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIODGwIlB5U
For those of you who are interested in more information, please go to our website: http://renaissancesoldier.com/ , then to North Country Muster.
Cheers!
Gordon
